Gerd Müller: the untouchable record
"Der Bomber" scored 365 Bundesliga goals for Bayern Munich in just 427 games — a record that has stood since the 1970s. For decades his single-season best of 40 goals (1971/72) looked unbeatable too.
Robert Lewandowski: the modern great
Robert Lewandowski is the only player to come close, with 312 goals for Dortmund and Bayern. In 2020/21 he broke Müller's 49-year-old single-season record by scoring 41 league goals — one of the standout individual feats in Bundesliga history.
