Everton survived an early scare, with Eddie Nketiah and Jean-Philippe Mateta both striking the woodwork for Crystal Palace, before Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall fired the hosts ahead three minutes before half-time. Thierno Barry headed home Iliman Ndiaye's cross eight minutes into the second half to double Everton's lead.
